The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation’s State Boxing Commission (FLDBPR) licenses and regulates MMA and boxing promoters in Florida, under Chapter 548 of the Florida Statutes. Promoter bonds are required to ensure that principals (promoters) account for and pay all monies and taxes due to the commission on time and in full, as well as fulfill all contractual agreements established with other parties involved in the events. A surety bond, in the amount of $15,000, must be submitted to the commission prior to issuance of the license.
The following is a list of application requirements to apply as a promoter with the State of Florida:
- Applicant must be at least 18 years old.
- In case of a corporation, each officer of the corporation must submit an application form. In case of a partnership, each partner must submit an application form. The $250 license fee will cover all officers of a single corporation or all partners of a single partnership.
- Pay the $250 nonrefundable fee (check or money order payable to Florida State Boxing Commission).
- Complete the application by clicking on the “Online Services” link or the “Printable Application” link at the FLDBPR application page.
