Part of the application process to becoming an immigration consultant in Utah includes posting a $50,000 surety bond to the Utah Division of Consumer Protection. This surety bond guarantees that the principal (immigration consultant) will submit accurate information on behalf of their clients and not violate any of the terms outlined under Utah Code Title 13, Chapter 49. In addition to the surety bond, applicants must submit the following items for approval:
- Registration Form
- Registration Fee ($200.00) and Background Check Fee ($20.00)
- Copy of valid and current photo identification
- Completed fingerprint card for background check
